The Fourth Annual Schmooze Conference is a South By Southwest must attend event for the Jewish arts and culture/entertainment community of presenters and artists. It is strategically linked to the prestigious Association of Performing Arts Presenters (APAP) for sharing concerns, participating in high-level conversations about Jewish culture, booking talent, marketing events, developing audiences, securing funding, and viewing showcases of leading and cutting-edge Jewish artists. It is capped by nightly two-day Oy!hoo Music Festival performances in NYC.
Featuring provocative discussions, inspiring speakers and art bursts with more than forty presenters and artists from theater, film, literary arts and more, Schmooze creates a space for the world of Jewish artists and presenters world to gather on an annual basis.
Schmooze brings together professionals from the Jewish culture, art and media worlds to discover new work, for colleagues to find jobs, for collaborators to find each other, to connect artists with grants and venues, and help connect young professionals with mentors. This is where presenters, artists, funders, and writers come together to schmooze, enjoy, get inspired and do business. This means you. This year’s conference also celebrates the launch of the IJPA website and our growing network of presenters and artists now known as the International Jewish Presenters Association.

“The most successful Schmooze yet! The range and quality of the speakers, and of the talent exhibited, was consistently impressive. Schmooze is a must attend event.”
Bob Goldfarb, Center for Jewish Culture and Creativity
“IJPA and Schmooze opened up to me a whole new network of colleagues and expertise, most of them thousands of miles from Amsterdam. As a festival director, I am occupied with tasks such as programming, marketing, funding, audience development, board relations, etc. IJPA membership has provided met with valuable insight into how similar organizations grapple with similar problems, and in some cases I’ve been able to help other colleagues as well. It’s great to help each other and, where possible, avert ‘reinventing the wheel’.”
Ken Gould, Director, International Jewish Music Festival
“IJPA provides a critically important centralized mechanism for meeting colleagues, sharing ideas, block booking, and above all, seeing what’s new in Jewish culture. It takes me out of my desk, away from my ipod and brings me face to face with other culture makers and presenters. I need it!”
Lenore Naxon, Director Friend Center for the Arts, Jewish Community Center of San Francisco
“As a creator of Jewish culture, in my many roles as program presenter, singer/songwriter, spiritual leader and writer, I am looking to membership in the IJPA as a way to help me find new venues, organize more economically sane touring schedules and get support to continue on this Jewish journey. It’s a worthy investment.”
