Psalm 126, which introduces the Birkat HaMazon, describes the great joy of the exiles, twenty-five hundred years ago, after King Cyrus of Persia gave them permission to return from Babylonia to Judea and build a Holy Temple. Through the ages, this optimistic psalm inspires Jews with hope for God's salvation, ultimate redemption and return to Zion.

Here I am, ready to perform the mitzvah of the third cup of wine, which concludes this Pesach meal.

We have eaten our Passover meal as free people. Let us give thanks to the source of all life and freedom. Let us say grace.
